Prof. Kristin Bright

Kristin is a medical anthropologist and cancer health scientist at Middlebury College in Vermont and the University of Toronto in Canada. She has worked in cancer research and advocacy in North America and internationally for more than 25 years, from grassroots campaigns in the early 1990s to lobby for federal commitments to breast and ovarian cancer research, to her more recent work on structural inequalities in precision medicine and palliative care in underserved communities in Canada and New Zealand. In addition to her work with patient advocacy networks BTC and LSTN, Kristin teaches cultural and medical anthropology and is working on several media projects in the area of digital health communication including a Spanish/English film about post-treatment breast cancer care and survivorship and a digital portal for student research in critical approaches to mental health, sexuality, and the body.
