Breast cancer is graded on a scale of 1-3 and depends on how quickly the cells are dividing and how much the breast cancer cells resemble normal breast tissue. The grade is used to classify the cancer into “well differentiated” (low grade), “moderately differentiated” (intermediate grade), and “poorly differentiated” (high grade), as the cells become progressively less normal appearing.
