All tests done that help you and your doctors figure out what kind of disease you have, its characteristics and if it has traveled (metastasized) anywhere else in your body. Many of these tests are done prior to surgery (MRI, biopsy, CT scan, bone scan etc.) but the pathology results from the analysis of the tumour after surgery also contribute to staging your cancer.
